We are all aware of the impact waste has on our environment, as a company working within the food service industry that produces waste predominately packaging, I feel strongly that e-foods, as do other companies, have an obligation to protect our environment and Future generations.

Having looked at a number of projects to sponsor, I believe Fairfield Materials Management ( FMM ) to be an ideal project for e-foods to sponsor and promote. FMM based on Manchester wholesale market, are the first in the U.K to install a composting system within a wholesale market. Since FMM began operation in July 2003 they have diverted almost 2,500 tonnes of waste from a landfill and produced 1,000 tonnes of high quality rich compost.

Fairfield Compost is a social enterprise and a not- for- profit organisation.
e-foods are fully supportive of FMM and believe it is important that produce waste is dealt with in the most environmentally beneficial way. e-foods believe this is the way forward for other markets across the U.K and are committed to helping FMM to set up further social enterprise on other markets.
